Do you close your blog posts? In other words, do you give your readers the information they want and then thank them for reading your article. Here’s a strong tip…don’t!

What you say. Well, think about this, if you have thanked them for reading aren’t you giving them permission to click away or permission to leave? Exactly. Instead, just leave them hanging for more. A great way to cure their “hanging experience” is to provide them with a list of related posts on your blog.

A great plugin for providing them with a list of related posts is to use a plugin called Yet Another Related Posts Plugin. Just download it, activate it and let it do it’s stuff.

Here’s an example of not closing off a blog post.

You start this blog post with your topic discussion, what you are going to tell them etc. etc. Then you launch into your tips.

Tip 2
Tip 3
Tip 4
Tip 5″

And you leave your blog post at that. No closing comment. Sounds radical doesn’t it but it’s like writing an article for the article directories, you let your resource box do the closing. You can say something like check the related posts that follow or invite them to leave a comment or send them to another page on your blog. If you really have a great trust with them, send them to an offer page.

You never give them a reason to leave your site. You would be better served finishing the article at the last tip leading into your resource box. Your resource box is your closer. The whole point of creating a great title and great content is to get them to your resource box or your carefully written exit guide to somewhere else on your site.

So remember, never close your article because people look for it. By not closing it you have left them hanging. Don’t worry, it’s not as mean as it sounds.
